Botanical Name: Gossypium
Other Names: Gossypium hirsutum or Gossypium barbadense
The cotton plant produces white blossoms 80–100 days after planting, transitioning to a reddish hue. Once fertilized, these blossoms drop within a few days, giving way to small green triangular pods known as bolls. These bolls mature over a span of 55–80 days.
