Brahmi, alternatively known as Bacopa monnieri, is a member of the Scrophulariaceae family. This herb is characterized by its petite size, succulent nature with stems adapted for water storage, and a smooth, glabrous surface. It typically exhibits a creeping or prostrate growth pattern, with branches extending above the ground. Additionally referred to as Herpestis monniera and water hyssop, it is locally recognized in India by the names Jalanimba or brahmi.
