Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) is a semi-aquatic plant characterized by the development of peltate leaves that can reach up to 30 cm in diameter, showcasing remarkable water repellency. As an adaptation to its aquatic surroundings, certain leaves have the ability to float intermittently on the water’s surface.
