The extracts referred to as deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) are distinct in that they appear to lack the undesirable side effects associated with other forms of licorice. Certain studies propose that DGL might be more favorable for addressing stomach or duodenal ulcers. Additionally, DGL may provide a protective effect against ulcer formation when used in conjunction with aspirin.
