Hairy cliff eyebright is a short-lived perennial herb or undershrub, typically enduring for 3 to 5 years. Its survival is heavily dependent on seed recruitment in gaps created by exposed conditions on cliff faces. The peak flowering period takes place in November to December, with native bees primarily responsible for pollination, although self-pollination is also possible. As semiparasitic plants, eyebrights establish connections to the roots of surrounding vegetation.
