Oregano possesses a shallow taproot system, thriving with as little as 15 cm of well-tended soil, with roots extending a maximum depth of 45 cm. Beginning with taproot as the primary root, the plant develops numerous lateral secondary roots, creating a dense and fibrous appearance.
