Description
The leaves of the Harsingar plant have been used to treat a different kind of fever, cough, arthritis, worm infestation, etc. The leaves juice is bitter and works as a tonic. Its kadha (decoction made by boiling the leaves in water) is excellent for arthritis, constipation, worm infestation.
It is commonly known as night-blooming jasmine, tree of sadness, tree of sorrow, coral jasmine, (in Burma/ Myanmar) ဆá€á€•á€şá€–လူး /hsei’ hpalu:/, (in India) harsingar, (in Singapore) seri gading and (in India) parijata. Despite its common name, the species is not a “true jasmine” and not of the genus Jasminum.
